To me, this time feels kind of "surreal." We just don't know what is going to happen next. Our whole lifestyle has changed. I am sad that I can't see my parents or my son who lives in San Francisco this year for Easter. It is going to be weird going to church from my home and watching online.
However, my heart is also heavy for a very good friend of mine who lost her mom right before all of this happened. She was around the same age as my mom, even younger. Everything was fine one day and then the next she had a stroke and she was gone. If you have been following me for a while you know you have been invited to a Kids Clothing Clearance Sale and Usborne Books & More vendors show many times. We always had these shows my friend's mothers' house. Words cannot even express the love I had for this woman. She was always so pleasant and helpful whenever I came. She loved children's books and loved helping me with my mission to get the "best books" into children's hands. (not just any books). I would like to arrange a book benefit in her memory. Two of the schools she loved for children was the Yellow School at Memorial Drive Presbyterian and the School for Young Children at Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
My goal is to collect $500 in books for each school.
How does this work? There are two ways that you can be a part.
First, if you would just like to make a cash donation toward the book drive, your donation will be matched by 50%. So for example, when you donate $100 your donation will purchase $150 in books for the school. (any amount is matched). The teachers will get to choose exactly what books would benefit them. Thank you for making a donation today. Donate Here!
The second way that you can be a part is order books yourself for your own kids or grandkids. Your purchase will help us earn FREE books for the schools. With this uncertainty many of us are finding ourselves kinda of homeschooling. We have lots of resources to help your kids learn from home. Email me today for suggestions. I love helping you find just the perfect books. Order here!
